Artist Statement

1. I selected the images in my portfolio because they are interesting to look at. I am a very curious person and random things such as how lights appear at night and the result of playing around with different shutter speeds at different times of day fascinates me. The images I have selected are what I believe to be my best ones, and that is why I have entered them. I have not necessarily entered my work because I want to win, but because I want other people to see my artwork. I have entered my pieces in art shows before and it was just a cool feeling that I could submit something that I did for other people to look at.

2. I would like for everybody to enjoy what I have done and be as curious about my work as I am!
3. I have never really been super artistic until my junior year of high school when I took a digital photography class. I learned that it was something that I really enjoyed because while some students panicked to try and throw together some last minute photograph to turn in, I was already done and having fun messing around with new things in Photoshop. I would lose track of time and stay an hour or two after class on some occasions just having fun with the pictures I had taken that day. Now I like to bring my camera everywhere with me. As I sit on the computer chatting with my friends online, I am simultaneously working on editing photographs. Being a three sport varsity athlete my junior year and having never taken a single art class, art class seemed like the last thing that I would like. On the contrary, art has become something that I love to do in my free time just as much as playing sports.
